The Thursford Christmas Spectacular is the largest Christmas show in the country.
Set in the magical surroundings of mechanical organs and fairground carousels, with a cast of 130 professional singers, dancers and musicians – many of whom are West End performers. The 3-hour performance delivers an extravaganza of non-stop singing, dancing, music, humour and variety.
It’s a fast moving celebration of the festive season featuring an eclectic mix of both seasonal and year-round favourites, with famous and much-loved chart toppers being sung alongside traditional carols.
Word of this amazing show has spread and it is now generally recognised as being the largest show of its kind in the country, if not Europe. This will be our 4th visit and I can’t wait to see the 2017 show.
The Sprowston Manor Hotel is a club favourite. This will be our 4th visit. With tall oak trees lining the drive to the stately manor house, Sprowston Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club exudes a historic charm combined with modern touches. The grounds are sheltered by ancient oak trees. Located just outside the city of Norwich this luxury hotel provides every element for a delightful stay. The hotel has a lovely indoor swimming pool and spa.
Day 1: Tuesday Pick up at usual coach boarding points. After coffee at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Rochester, the coach will travel to Bury St Edmunds for a lunch stop. As the weather will be cold we will not have a lengthy stop, just enough time to enjoy lunch and a brief look around the town, before continuing our journey. After checking in at our hotel we will have time to relax and enjoy the facilities before dinner in the hotel this evening
Day 2 Wednesday Our itinerary today very much depends on whether we have matinee or evening tickets for the Thursford Spectacular. Teresa will arrange the day accordingly, possibly with a visit to Wroxham Barns for some shopping, or if we have time we could visit Norwich, or even Cromer. We will either have lunch or dinner at Sprowston depending on our Thursford tickets.
Day 3: ThursdayWe return home today, stopping for lunch in Sudbury [again, not a long stop, just enough time to find something to eat and a quick look round the town] before returning to the Holiday Inn Rochester and a cup of tea before finishing our journey home.
Coach boarding points are the same as on our day excursions –timings will be confirmed nearer the departure date but should be around our usual excursion departure times. [Please note: Teresa may have to slightly alter the programme depending on journey timings etc and reserves the right to do so if necessary.]
